Shrine of Challenge marks the first stop on. The co-op can still upgrade their own skills in the character trees so that’s a plus. New challenges await in Children of Morta as Dead Mage and 11 bit studios release the first content update in the games extensive 2020 roadmap. While others may or may not be celebrating Valentine’s Day today fans of Children of Morta have an entirely different reason to celebrate. As you have come to expect (and appreciate), the majority of new content coming to Children of Morta will be available free of charge to those who own the game with only the Uncharted Lands being released as paid expansion. After many hours and a slew of solo and couch co-op sessions, I can honestly say this is some of the most fun I’ve had on the Switch in years. Children of Morta might find itself in the ranks of indie development, however, its content roadmap for 2020 mimics that of ongoing gaming models with its recently announced content plans for. Props to whoever did the voice acting for that. I wasn’t too engaged with it but it was interesting enough. By the time we finished the game none of the characters were close to being maxed out and only 2 were even past halfway up the skill tree. Kill monsters and find relics, get stronger with upgrades at homebase, level up and unlock new abilities, it’s straightforward.
